Who We Support
The right provision, at the right time.
We support children and young people aged 5 to 16 who may benefit from a smaller, more personalised and relationship-led environment — where time can be taken to understand their individual strengths, needs and barriers to learning.
01
Appropriate provision for individual needs
Rediscover Education provides appropriate provision for children and young people aged 5 to 16 who are experiencing barriers to engaging successfully within mainstream education.
We support young people who may benefit from a smaller, more personalised and relationship-led environment, where time can be taken to understand their individual strengths, needs and barriers to learning.
Young people referred to Rediscover may be experiencing:
- Disengagement from education or declining attendance
- Difficulty managing within a mainstream school environment
- Social, emotional or behavioural barriers to learning
- Low confidence, self-esteem or motivation
- Difficulties building positive relationships with adults or peers
- Risk of suspension or permanent exclusion
- Special Educational Needs (SEN) that require a more tailored and flexible approach
- A period of transition where additional support is required before returning to mainstream education
02
Supporting young people with SEN
We welcome referrals for young people with a range of Special Educational Needs, including those with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
We welcome referrals for young people with a range of Special Educational Needs. Our small group sizes, flexible timetabling and relationship-led approach mean we are well placed to provide an environment where young people with SEN can feel understood, supported and able to make genuine progress.
We work closely with referring schools, local authorities and families to understand each young person's EHCP, support needs and any relevant assessments, ensuring that our provision is appropriately tailored from the outset.
If you are unsure whether Rediscover can meet a young person's specific needs, we encourage you to get in touch to discuss. We will always be honest about whether we are the right fit.
03
The right provision at the right time
Purpose and direction in every placement.
We believe that a placement away from mainstream education should have purpose and direction. Each young person is considered individually, allowing us to determine whether Rediscover can appropriately meet their needs and establish clear objectives for their placement.
Working alongside the referring school, local authority, family and young person, we aim to create a personalised programme that builds engagement, confidence, resilience and readiness to learn.
Sport and physical activity play an important role within this process, providing another route through which young people can experience success, build relationships and develop skills that can transfer back into education.
Where appropriate, we work towards successful reintegration into mainstream education, ensuring that time at Rediscover is a positive step forward rather than simply time away from school.
